A cute little octopus made out of yarn. A basic knowledge of crochet is required.

Category: Knitting
Date Created: Sunday, 28 February 2010

Steps:

Using a size 4 hook, chain 21. Starting from the 2nd chain from the hook, 5 single crochet (sc), 13 double crochet (dc) and 2 triple crochet (tc). This will make one tentacle. It should curl naturally. Without cutting the yarn, do this 7 more times and join the first and last tentacles together at the top with a slip stitch.

Now working in continuous rounds without turning: a. 2 dc in each tc at the top of the tentacles. (16) b. 1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches, then work 2 stitches together. Do this 4 times. (12) c & d. 12 sc. e. 1sc in each of the next 2 stitches, then work 2 in the next 1 stitch. Do this 4 times. (16) f, g & h. 16 sc.

i. 1 sc in the next 3 stitches, then work 2 in the 4th stitch. Do this 4 times. (20). j, k & l. 20sc. m. 1 sc in each of the next 3 stitches, then work 2 together. Do this 4 times. (16) n. 1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches, then work 2 together. Do this 4 times (12). o. 1 sc in one stitch then work 2 together. Do this 4 times. (8) p. work 2 stitches together. Do this 4 times unless it's getting too tight to do so. Tie off the end, trim to about 2 inches and poke the excess inside the head of the octopus. Weave in the ends from the tentacle.

Stuff the octopus with the polyester filling. Using a hole punch or scissors, make two eyes out of the black foam for the eyes. Glue on with foam glue. Done!
