Using a size 4 hook, chain 21.
Starting from the 2nd chain from the hook, 5 single crochet (sc), 13 double crochet (dc) and 2 triple crochet (tc). This will make one tentacle. It should curl naturally. Without cutting the yarn, do this 7 more times and join the first and last tentacles together at the top with a slip stitch.

Now working in continuous rounds without turning:
a. 2 dc in each tc at the top of the tentacles. (16)
b. 1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches, then work 2 stitches together. Do this 4 times. (12)
c & d. 12 sc.
e. 1sc in each of the next 2 stitches, then work 2 in the next 1 stitch. Do this 4 times. (16)
f, g & h. 16 sc.

i. 1 sc in the next 3 stitches, then work 2 in the 4th stitch. Do this 4 times. (20).
j, k & l. 20sc.
m. 1 sc in each of the next 3 stitches, then work 2 together. Do this 4 times. (16)
n. 1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches, then work 2 together. Do this 4 times (12).
o. 1 sc in one stitch then work 2 together. Do this 4 times. (8)
p. work 2 stitches together. Do this 4 times unless it's getting too tight to do so.
Tie off the end, trim to about 2 inches and poke the excess inside the head of the octopus. Weave in the ends from the tentacle.

Stuff the octopus with the polyester filling. Using a hole punch or scissors, make two eyes out of the black foam for the eyes. Glue on with foam glue. Done!
